Highland Cold Mountain Winter Ale

Guest commentator Joe joins us this evening to taste a local brew from Asheville, NC:

Claudia: It's late November; somewhere there's a mulberry bush among the birch trees. Pine needles cling to my shoes. The air is still. A dove calls. This beer is peaceful, with low carbonation and high drinkability. I am walking within the mountains.
8.5/10

Jay: I'm at the Teen Center on a Friday night listening to Hi-Town DJs. I've got this thin, watery beer in my cup that closely resembles cream soda. A pleasant, mild dose of hops takes over after each sip. A not-entirely-natural vanilla taste pervades. While this beer is somewhat enjoyable, there's not enough flavor per gulp. 7/10

Joe: Tastes kind of like you're at a Christmas party and "Across the Great Divide" by The Band is playing and you start making out with someone who's been drinking gin and eating dark chocolate. You wake up on the couch the next morning and taste this in your mouth. It's nostalgic in a nice way, but you're ready to brush your teeth. I like this beer but I don't think I'd want to drink a lot of it. 7.5/10
