Smuttynose Baltic Porter
Claudia: Smells like a classic porter. Reminds me of nuts and figs. More carbonation than expected, so there's more bite but it still retains a dark silkiness. Makes me want to eat chocolate cake. Reminds me of Coke a little bit. Also would go very well with raspberries. I enjoy this beer; I like that it feels relatively light, but I like my porters a little heavier, stronger, and more wine-y. 7/10
Jay: Dark, figgy/rasiny smell. Mouthfeel is thick but not syrupy. Immediate carbonation gives way to strong hop presence and burnt, figgy taste. Finish is marked by intense alcohol taste; aftertaste is bitter. I don't taste any coffee or chocolate. While I like this porter, I wish it were a little smoother. 7/10
